Final preview - Women degrading in media

I will be dedicating my final project to "Why and How Do Women Get Treated Differently in the Media". This has many branches that come out that I want to point out and discuss.

-Why are there not as many older women news anchors than older men news anchors. 

We as a class read this in our readings in Naomi Wolf's, The Beauty Myth. In the article she discussed that beauty and youth are used as tools to prevent women from becoming to powerful, as men become wise as they age with there "White hair" as a symbol of "respect" Women however are taught to dread age however are only allowed the power when young.

Below is Janet Pechinpaugh, who was rewarded $3.79 after suing CBS for wrongful demotion due to her age in 1995.

-Women have a choice, why do they choose to be treated in a negative way such as being on reality shows such as "The Bachelor".

Women who are in shows such as, "The Bachelor" have a choice to be degraded on these reality shows. There are 25 women competing for a relationship with one man who most likely will not last so long after the show ends. There are many debates and arguments that discuss this. I want to go ahead and interview a few women in different age groups and from different races to see how they feel.
