Power is to the ability to have control over an object or someone either physically or emotionally.  In the ways of seeing by Berger, it is said, “ The power to spend money is the power to live. “ I feel many people are easily influenced by what society feels what you need to obtain in order to fit in. I know when I am upset and I go to the mall and pick up new shoes I know the feeling is rewarding and powerful BUT only when I am rewarding myself. When I go out and spend money that I need for necessities I usually feel bad but when it’s a reward, I feel powerful.

Hegemony is the principal influence, as of a state, region, or group, over another or others. Bells hooks states” whites hold power/ supremacy over minorities” With that being, said I feel as if white people are at the center of the discussion. Racism plays a huge role in society today, black and Hispanics being the minorities mean while white is perceived as the common businessman. 

Sexism Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women. This has always been an issue in society from the past until present time. Females are usually seen as Objects, or a possession to some men. While reading Doubletake, it states, “ The woman is placed at a small distance from her husband and child, like a servant." When traveling back in time, women were only meant for cleaning cooking and taking care of the children. Now we have women rights and women should be as equal as men but even today women are still looked down upon.

Meanwhile a leader can use Pedagogy which is the method and practice of teaching; he lures the crowd into believing what they want the crowd to believe and how they should Act. When a leader or celebrities gets on TV his empowerment is very powerful for viewers, it is a key motivation to get a crowd of people involved.

 Just like its stated in the Art and Leisure, “ Our bodies, the flesh and blood of it all, have given way to representations: Figures that cavort on TV, movie and computer screens. Objects are anything that is visible or tangible and is relatively stable in form.  It’s a thing in which thoughts or action is directed. An object makes us have an imprint of what we desire of want. It can be something emotionally or a solid physical object.

Spectacle is something that presents itself simultaneously as society itself. With that being said it’s how our stimuli is provoked by images in Pop Culture today. “ As a part of society, it is ostensibly the focal point of all vision and all consciousness. “ I always feel once u have that vision of that goal that you want to obtain; nothing is impossible.
