Intro to my life

   Hey, my name is Raphaella Abad. I'm a International Broadcast Journalism major here at Rutgers University. In the future, I plan to work as an international reporter where I can learn from different cultures. A hobby and passion of mine has always been geography and learning about other countries, languages, music, and customs. This is something that I really enjoy and want to learn from as a reporter. I love learning different languages, its something I find joyful to do. I took Russian in 6th grade voluntarily and fell in love with it. Eventhough, I forgot most of it I'm planning on learning it again. I then taught myself portuguese at the age of 12 and have been on and off with it ever since. Although I don't speak it as fluently I can make myslef understood, because I understand it more than I speak it. I've now been trying to learn arabic (lebanese dialect) for a while now since lebanese people keep on telling me that my Muslim descendants were lebanese. It's way harder than what I thought it would be but, I'll keep trying in the future. I'm ecuadorian-american for those who might not know. It's alright if you don't catch it right off the back, many people never guess my ethnicity anyway so, I'm use to it. Both my parents are from South America, but have been living here much of their life. They've become very americanized but, never forgot their roots. I was raised and followed much of their culture and love it. I have gone to Ecuador and I've enjoyed it everytime that I've gone. On the other hand, my family has spread throughout the world. I take that as an advantage if someday I want to travel somewhere else. This will help me out when I plan to study abroad. :) I have a few options such as; Monaco, Italy, France, Chile, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Spain.
   My plans for the future are quite ambitious, considering the fact that I'm a very driven and motivated person. However, I'm not an ambitious person that will do whatever it takes to get what they want even if, that means hurting someone. I'm not mean, I admire people's work and their motivation. I become inspired by others achievements and passions. Nonetheless, I believe that accomplishing my goals in life are very important and fufilling. One major goal in my life is to help people feel good about themselves, it's something that I find rewarding. On the other hand, I also enjoy sports. I was introduced to sports at a very young age, so much that I began swimming at the age of 3. Although, I don't swim anymore as a competitor I still very much enjoy swimming on my free time. In addition, I also love soccer, it's my favorite sport. My favorite team is Real Madrid, which if much of you don't know is a Spanish League team. I was lucky enough to see them play last year in New York, and it was one of the happiest days of my life. :) However, I enjoy tennis as well.
    Lastly, I have an obsession with all things beauty, especially makeup. I know it might sound random that I love sports but, I'm obsessed with all things beauty related. Nonetheless, I am girly in certain things but, I also love my sports and I'm passionate about them too.
